Greece asks Russia to lower gas prices

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to lower prices for gas, reports Ekathimerini. Greece pays roughly 30 percent more than the European average under its current contract with Gazprom running until 2016. In June Gazprom withdrew a bid for Greece’s natural gas firm DEPA.
