Merkel 'still sceptical' about Turkey joining EU

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Tuesday after meeting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that she is "still sceptical" about Turkey joining the EU at the end of negotiations which are "open-ended" and have "no deadline." "But that should not bother us now, we are continuing the talk," she said.
