Ukrainian Parliament votes to release Tymoshenko

Ukraine's newly empowered parliament on Friday voted to release former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who has spent more than two years in jail in what her supporters and the EU consider a politically-motivated sentence. A senior Russian lawmaker immediately criticised the move as crafted for the West.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania
