Brussels approves French state aid for wind energy

The European Commission on Thursday declared French support of around €500 million per year for electricity from on-shore wind mills as in line with EU state aid rules. In another boost for renewable energy, Brussels also said that French tax reductions for energy-intensive industries may breach EU state aid rules.
