Syriza drops Roma candidate from European Parliament race

Greek leftist Syriza party on Monday announced it has removed Roma activist Saticha Suleiman from its list of candidates for the European Parliament following intense internal criticism. An NGO set up by Suleiman encourages local Roma children to attend Greek-speaking schools instead of the minority schools for Turkish speaking Muslims.
