Conservatives nominate British MEP to head EU Parliament

The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament has nominated UK Tory MEP Sajjad Karim to be its candidate for European Parliament President. Karim, the first British Muslim to be elected to the Parliament in 2004, says he wants reforms, including scrapping the European Parliament's Strasbourg seat.
