Finland set to break EU stability pact

Finland is set to break the EU's rules on budget deficits after estimates suggested that the country will fall short of the yearly objective for structural deficit both in 2014 and 2015. Finland's structural deficit is set to clear one percent this year, above the 0.5 percent limit.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
