Germany says no to Greek bailout extension request

The German finance ministry Thursday rejected a request by the Greek government for a six-month loan extension. Ministry spokesperson Martin Jaeger said what Athens was suggesting was not a "substantial proposal for a solution". He said Athens was looking for a bridging loan "without fulfilling the programme's conditions".
