Generous welfare systems don't encourage dependency, report finds

Generous social welfare systems encourage people to work and do not encourage a culture of dependency, according to research published by the British Sociological Association. The survey questioned 18,000 people from 18 European countries and indicated that higher welfare and investment in employment schemes led to greater enjoyment of work.

EU Modernisation Fund: an open door for fossil gas in Romania

Among the largest sources of financing for energy transition of central and eastern European countries, the €60bn Modernisation Fund remains far from the public eye. And perhaps that's one reason it is often used for financing fossil gas projects.
