Berlusconi convicted of bribery, escapes jail
By EUobserver
Italy's disgraced former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi on Wednesday was convicted of bribery, reports the Independent. The charge comes with a three-year jail sentence but he won't serve any of it because of the statute of limitations. He is accused of bribing a senator in 2006. He denies the charge.
