Ireland enters refugee relocation scheme

Ireland will relocate 600 asylum seekers under the EU mechanism to relocate 160,000 people from Italy and Greece, the EU Commission confirmed Wednesday. Ireland, which has treaty exemptions on justice and home affaires issues, decided to use its "opt-in" option. "Relocations to Ireland can start immediately," the Commission said.
