Moldova's president rejects PM nominee, cites 'integrity'

Moldova's president, Nicolae Timofti, rejected the prime minister chosen by the three-party pro-Europe coalition government Wednesday, saying Vlad Plahotniuc, a businessman, “does not meet the integrity criteria”. Timofti's refusal could trigger new elections in the former Soviet republic, a member of the EU Eastern Partnership where Russia is still influential.
