EU casts doubt on legality of Hungary migrant referendum

The European Commission "fails to understand" how the referendum on migrant quotas announced by the Hungarian government on Wednesday "would fit into the decision making process under EU treaties", a commission spokeswoman said on Thursday. She added it could "not yet determine" the proposed vote's legality.
