Report: Germany spied on EU foreign policy chief

Germany's intelligence agency BND spied on the Catherine Ashton, the EU's former foreign policy chief, according to Der Spiegel. The magazine said BND had targeted Ashton from 2009 onwards. The BND has previously been accused of snooping on other EU states and helping the US intelligence agency NSA.
