Germany to legalise cannabis for medicinal use

The German government is set to approve a proposal to legalise cannabis for medical use. Doctors will be able to prescribe the drug to some patients and the cost will be covered by public healthcare. State-controlled cannabis cultivation is part of the law, expected to come into force next year.
