France to present 'Europe of defence' initative

President Francois Hollande said on Wednesday (13 July) that France would present an initiative to strengthen the defense of Europe. "Our German friends are ready. So we can bring together this initiative," Hollande said during in a speech at France's defence ministry. The proposal would "facilitate the commitments of the EU outside its borders, enhance security with our partners and our neighbors, and ward off terrorist threats," Hollande said.

Greens commit to air quality 'super commissioner'
