Ecuador approves Swedish request to hear Julian Assange
Ecuador will allow Swedish prosecutors to interrogate WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at its London embassy, Sweden's foreign ministry announced in a statement on Thursday. The prosecutor submitted its request in January, sending a reminder in June. Assange is suspected of a 2010 rape, the investigation hanging in limbo after Assange refused to appear, fearing extradition to America. The Australian, living in the embassy since 2012, denies the allegations.
