EU 'stands by' Turkey migration deal
A European Commission spokesman said Monday that the EU "stands by" its migration accord with Turkey and expects Ankara to follow suit. Turkey has accused the EU of failing to deliver on promises, such as visa free travel for Turkish nationals. But commission chief Juncker said Sunday that Turkey must amend its counter-terrorism laws first. "Anti-terror laws cannot be used to imprison intellectuals, scientists and journalists", he said in Austria.
