By EUobserver
Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon has appointed Michael Russell, the former education minister, as minister to lead negotiations with the UK government in order to find an agreement for EU exit preparations. "Influencing the UK position will be crucial to our efforts to protect Scotland’s interests and our relationship with Europe, especially the single market," Sturgeon said Thursday during the announcement of the appointment.
