UK to reject changes to Calais border deal
By EUobserver
UK home secretary Amber Rudd is to reject calls for changes to UK-French border control agreements in Calais when she meets her French counterpart on Tuesday. French officials suggested establishing "hotspots" in Calais to allow migrants to apply for UK asylum without crossing the channel. But the UK has rejected the idea, arguing that people should seek asylum in the first safe country they enter.
