Millions back in Greek banks after capital controls loosen
At least €800 million returned to Greek banks since finance minister Euclid Tsakalotos scrapped a 420-euro per week limit on withdrawals for new deposits last month. According to ANA news agency, which estimated the figure, the money was cash held by households. The Bank of Greece is expected to present an official figure soon. Capital controls were introduced in 2015 at the height of the Greek crisis.
