Over 200 relocated from Greece and Italy this week

The Geneva-based International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said it helped relocated 222 people seeking international protection from Greece and Italy this week to other EU states. It also noted 1,356 people have been relocated or are scheduled to do so in September. A total of 3,677 asylum seekers have been relocated from Greece and 1,065 from Italy to other EU states since the start of the programme last year.

Italian central banker Piero Cipollone in his first monetary policy speech since joining the ECB's board in November, said that the bank should be ready to "swiftly dial back our restrictive monetary policy stance."
