Commission to publish new roaming proposal next week

The European Commission will next week publish a revised proposal that will lay down detailed rules for telecommunications operators on cross-border use of mobile phones, Commission president Juncker said Wednesday. A previous version was withdrawn by Juncker four days after its publication last week. It allowed operators to charge fees for cross-border use after 90 days, which critics said meant the EU broke its promise on banning roaming charges.
