EU authorises 11 GMOs in products

The European Commission on Friday authorised, for 10 years, the sale of "products containing, consisting of, or produced from" 11 sorts of genetically modified maize crops for food and feed use. "The GMOs approved today had received 'no opinion' vote from the member states in both the Standing and Appeal Committees and the commission decided to adopt this pending decision," the commission explains.

EU fines Google €2.4 bn over online shopping

Brussels says Google has abused a near-monopoly position in online searches to favour its shopping service, but the US company said Brussels cannot prove the charges.
