EU must stop Airbus subsidies, says trade body

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) said in a report Thursday that the EU as well as Germany, France, the UK and Spain do not comply with that organisation's rules on public subsidies and should cut fundings to aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The WTO's panel examined the case at the request of Airbus main competitor, Boeing. The US called for an immediate halt for EU subsidies and Airbus said it would appeal.
