EU's Georgieva put forward for UN job
By EUobserver
Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borisov said Wednesday that he was nominating Kristalina Georgieva, a Bulgarian politician and European Commission vice-president, to become the next UN secretary general. He also warned that there could be smear campaigns to discredit her. Bulgaria had flip-flopped on Georgieva's nomination for months. Senior EU officials have, informally, also endorsed her candidacy.
