EU-Turkey deal keeps migrant numbers down

Fewer than 100 migrants are traveling from Turkey to Greece each day, compared with 10,000 during last October's peak, the European Commission said on Wednesday. The drop has been credited to the EU's deal with Turkey, though Ankara has threatened to scrap the deal unless the EU gives Turks visa-fee travel. The commission said Turkey still needed to meet seven benchmarks, including changes to terrorism laws.
