EU takes Germany to court over road toll

The European Commission decided on Thursday to take Germany to the EU Court of Justice over a road charge for private vehicles that it says was "discriminatory" to foreign drivers. The commission pointed out that German car owners would be able to deduct the charge from their annuel vehicle tax bill and that prices for short-term vignettes, mainly used by foreign drives, "are disproportionality high in some cases."
