EU ministers agree to ratify Paris climate agreement

EU ministers agreed to ratify the Paris cimate agreement on Friday. "Deal! Historic day," tweeted EU commissioner for climate and energy Miguel Arias Canete. The European Parliament is expected to vote on the agreement next week, before the EU council adopts a formal decision that will allow the EU to deposit its ratification instrument at the UN before member states complete the ratification.
