MEPs approve ban on execution and torture products
MEPs voted on Tuesday to ban the sale of goods that have execution or torture as their only goal. The ban includes the electric chair, automatic drug injection systems, and spiked thumbscrews. Transit of such goods via EU territory will also be forbidden. "Banning the death penalty and torture are key goals ... and it is essential that EU companies do not contribute to these practices," said rapporteur Marietje Schaake.
