EU plans €5 Schengen visa

The EU commission is set to table a proposal on Wednesday on charging non-EU citizens €5 for travel to the Schengen zone. The proposed visa would cover roughly 30 million people who enter the EU every year from 60 visa-waiver countries, including the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The system could be launched in 2020 if it gets approval from EU member states and the European parliament.
