French PM announces presidential bid
By EUobserver
French prime minister Manuel Valls announced on Monday that he would run for next year's presidential election and that he would step down on Tuesday. He said he wanted a "less tough, more united and more moral society" and a France that is independent from China, Russia, the US and Turkey. He spoke days after President Francois Hollande said he would not seek a second term.
