Poland challenges EU decision on Russian gas

PGNiG, Poland's state-owned gas firm, has asked the EU court to annul a European Commission decision that would let Russia use more capacity on the so-called Opal gas pipeline in Germany. The Polish firm said the decision went against EU rules on sharing of infrastructure. The extra Opal capacity will help Russia to expand the Nord Stream pipeline to Germany, which Poland sees as a strategic threat.
