Kosovo cracks down on corrupt police

Fifty nine police officers were arrested after a four-month corruption investigation in Kosovo, DW reported Tuesday. The government of Kosovo, a potential EU candidate country, said the operation was "evidence of an uncompromising commitment ... in the fight against organised crime and corruption". The European Commission recently told Kosovo it needed to "further intensify its fight against organised crime and corruption".

EU shelves Macron idea for 'European Darpa'

The European Commission's new strategy on artificial intelligence contains nothing that resembles French president's idea for a US-inspired agency for disruptive innovation.
