European Parliament approves EU-Canada trade deal
MEPs have approved the EU-Canada trade deal (Ceta) with 408 votes in favour, 254 against and 33 abstentions. Provisional application of the deal is likely to start in April. National parliaments will have to ratify the agreement too for it to be fully implemented. Some MEPs and members of the public in the chamber chanted "Stop Ceta" at the start of voting.
