Report: Commission gauging EU support for Poland sanctions

The European Commission is sounding out member states to see if there is enough support to trigger disciplinary proceedings against Poland over its rule of law abuses, Reuters reports. "The idea is to gauge EU governments' views and support for moving forward," an EU official said. The Commission accuses the Polish government of waging a political attack against its own constitutional court.
