EU adopts visa-free brake mechanism

EU states adopted on Monday a regulation to facilitate the suspension of visa liberalisation agreements with other countries. The EU will now be able to suspend visa waivers when there is "a decrease in cooperation on readmission, a substantial increase in the refusal rate of readmission applications ... or a substantial increase in the risk to public policy or the internal security of the member states."
