Counting begins in Northern Ireland election
By EUOBSERVER
Turnout in Thursday's Northern Irish Assembly elections was up compared to last year's figure of 55 percent, reports from several polling stations suggest. First results should be known by mid-afternoon on Friday, with the final results expected on Saturday. It is the second elections in 10 months, sparked by a collapse in January of the coalition of the two largest parties, the Democratic Unionists and Sinn Fein.
