Italy introduces €100,000 flat tax to attract rich foreigners

Italy announced a new flat tax on Wednesday aimed at attracting wealthy foreigners. People who opt to move to Italy can activate a flat tax of 100,000 euros a year. Permission to profit from the new favourable tax regime can be given to people who have been non-tax residents in Italy for at least 9 years out of the 10 years preceding their move to the country.

France tightens immigration law, sparking division

French lawmakers are cracking down on asylum seekers in a bid to send those rejected back home. Controversial measures they passed over the weekend will now be debated in the French senate in June.
