Slovenia suspends new EU-wide border check
By EUobserver
Traffic chaos over the weekend prompted Slovenia to temporarily suspend a new EU-wide rule, which requires authorities to run ID checks on everyone, including European citizens, whenever they leave or enter the passport-free Schengen area. Police said they stopped applying the new rule late Friday evening, the same day it was launched. Slovenia shares a long border with the non-Schengen member state Croatia.
