Spanish PM asked to testify in party financing trial

Spain's prime minister Mariano Rajoy has been called to testify in a trial of members of his ruling Popular Party (PP), following an investigation into companies bribing PP lawmakers for contracts. The leader of the minority government is not accused of any wrongdoing, but the court appearance, whose date is yet to be decided, will be an embarrassment for Rajoy as he tries to distance himself from his party's scandals.

Frontex chief: 'about time' MEPs probe his agency

Some 14 MEPs have created a group to probe allegations of rights abuse by the EU's border agency Frontex. Its head, Fabrice Leggeri, welcomed its creation and said it "is about time".
