Spanish PM asked to testify in party financing trial
By EUobserver
Spain's prime minister Mariano Rajoy has been called to testify in a trial of members of his ruling Popular Party (PP), following an investigation into companies bribing PP lawmakers for contracts. The leader of the minority government is not accused of any wrongdoing, but the court appearance, whose date is yet to be decided, will be an embarrassment for Rajoy as he tries to distance himself from his party's scandals.
