EU parliament moves to lift Le Pen's immunity

European Parliament president Antonio Tajani told lawmakers on Wednesday (26 April) that a request to lift Marine Le Pen's immunity had been filed by French judges. Tajani said the request "has been forwarded to the legal affairs committee of the European Parliament, which is in charge of these issues”. The demand was made following allegations that Le Pen misspent EU parliament money to pay workers in her National Front party.
