French data watchdog fines Facebook
By EUobserver
French data protection authority CNIL announced on Tuesday that it has fined Facebook €150,000 because of an amendment the American social media company made to its privacy policy in 2015, which allowed it to track its users more broadly. The fine is insignificant compared to the company's billion-dollar revenues, but was the highest possible amount in France when the offence happened. Facebook can still appeal the penalty.
