UN to hold 2018 climate summit in Polish coal region
By EUobserver
The UN has announced Thursday that its annual climate change conference in 2018 will take place in Katowice, a city in the heart of Poland's coal mining region, Silesia. Poland's dependence on coal and the future of its mine workers have made the country quite reluctant to back climate action. The announcement comes as the world awaits US president Trump's decision on whether to stay part of the Paris agreement.
