Polish president vetoes justice reforms
By EUobserver
Polish president Andrej Duda said on Monday that he will not sign the reforms of the Supreme Court and the National Council for the Judiciary, which would put both institutions under political control. He said he had not been consulted before the bills were introduced. The European Commission had said that the reforms "considerably increase the threat to the rule of law in Poland."
