Catalonia will 'not back down'

The Catalan separatist government will "not back down" even if the Spanish government triggers Article 155 of the constitution to take over the region's powers. "The answer is definitively no. We have no options, we have no alternatives," the Catalan minister in charge of foreign affairs Raul Romeva told reporters in Brussels on Wednesday. He said that an independent republic was their "proposal" to open talks with Madrid.
