EU launches work on 'military Schengen'
By EUobserver
The European Commission proposed on Friday a series of measures to facilitate the circulation of military forces and equipment between member states, in what some have called a "military Schengen". "The swift movement of military personnel and equipment is hindered by physical, legal and regulatory barriers," said EU transport commissioner Violeta Bulc. The Commission will present an action plan next year.
