1.2 million homeless in Germany next year, estimate

Germany will have 1.2 million homeless people by 2018, figures released on Tuesday by Germany's federal working group for homeless persons' assistance show. Compared to 2016 that amounts to a 150 percent rise. More than half of the homeless are expected to be refugees. According to federal statistics, 440,000 of the country's 860,000 homeless people in 2016 were refugees.
