EU bank delays gas pipeline decision

The European Investment Bank has delayed its decision on whether to finance up to €1.5bn of a gas pipeline, TAP, linking the EU to Azerbaijan and reducing dependency on Russia. A spokesman said the decision was now likely in February. He said the delay was linked to "due diligence", but activists criticised the EU for planning to invest in fossil fuels the same day as a climate summit in Paris.
