Puigdemont proposed as sole candidate for Catalan leadership

The speaker of the Catalan parliament, the separatist Roger Torrent, proposed on Monday the region's former leader Carles Puigdemont as the "unique candidate" for president of the regional government. Puigdemont, who has been in exile in Belgium since he was dismissed in October, traveled to Denmark for a conference on Monday. A Spanish prosecutor asked a judge to issue an arrest warrant.
